Tributes have flowed for a teenager who died in a horror crash after the vehicle he was in lost a tyre on a major motorway in Queensland.
Corey Kurtzer, 19, was one of four passengers in a white Holden Commodore travelling on the Bruce Highway at Booyal on Saturday when the car lost one of its tyres, causing the vehicle to roll and Mr Kurtzer to be thrown from the car.
Emergency services were called to the scene along Adies Rd, but the teen was declared dead at the scene.
A QAS spokesman said another patient, a male, was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with leg injuries.
The teenager’s friends took to social media to describe the young man as a “gorgeous soul” with a bright and “bubbly smile”.
“What a heart of gold you had and such a bright bubbly smile,” one friend wrote.
“Rest in peace buddy you were always the life of the party what ever we were doing. We will all miss you so much. Love you mate forever 19,” another wrote.
“There’s simply no way of putting into words how beautiful you are. You were truly a blessing and the most gorgeous soul. I will forever be grateful you were such a big part of my life.”
The teen has been remembered as a “hard worker” and avid fisherman who loved the outdoors.
“He was a hard working, kind & happy young man,” one friend wrote.
“So thankful to have been lucky enough to have known this kind and polite young man – always good for a laugh and a joke – taken from this earth too soon,” another wrote.
Police urge anyone who witnessed the white Commodore at the intersection of Adies Rd and Bruce Highway at about 6pm to contact authorities.
