An eight-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she slipped from the rocks at a popular Australian tourist beach.
The girl fell from the rocks at North Stradbroke Island’s Point Lookout into the water below on Saturday.
Her father jumped in after her and found her unconscious, holding her head above water as they waited for help.
It is believed she was swept off the rocks and under water for a period of time.
Footage shared by Channel 7 caught the moment her father and another man jumped in to save the girl, as another member of the public throws a flotation device down to the trio.
Rescuers on jet skis arrived on the scene at about 11.30am and began to resuscitate the girl on a rescue sled while taking her back to shore.
QAS confirmed she was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, and her father was transported by road to a nearby hospital.
