A man has been charged over the death of a woman who was hit and critically injured by her own car as it was allegedly being stolen from her home.
Queensland Police allege the 37-year-old man tried to steal a car in the town of Finch Hatton, about 60km west of Mackay in central Queensland on July 4 last year.
It’s alleged Suzanne Scott, 69, was hit by the car, causing her critical injuries before she died a short time later.
After a seven-month long investigation, police charged the 37-year-old man from North Rockhampton with enter premises and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
He’s due in Mackay Magistrates Court on March 8.
Mackay Criminal Investigation’s Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Eaton has praised the efforts of officers who worked on the seven-month investigation.
